American Goldfinch in Charcoal
A charcoal on paper depiction of the American Goldfinch in action on an echinacea flower by Rohini Bhalla. The monogamous Goldfinch enjoy the summertime climate of Buffalo before returning to warmer weather in the winter. Their agile, little feet are used to grip flowers and stems of seed heads while feeding. Echinacea flowers, native to this area, are medicinal to birds as well as humans. The bond we share with nature becomes evident while staring into the subtle details of the charcoal bringing the bird to life. The drawing is 13” x 10” and comes framed and matted at a size of 22” x 18”.
